Children's Outings  

Each month the social committee plans a variety of events that are age-appropriate for our members. Our "field trips" are educational and entertaining and being accompanied by friends will make the event even more fun.  While some of our outings involve typical field trip locales such as the zoo, fire station or local children's museums,  many of our outings involve special behind the scene tours of local businesses.  In the past we have visited Whole Foods, Navlet's Nursery and Krispy Kreme Donuts. 

The club also sponsors several special events during the year that provide opportunities for families to get out and have some fun with other club members. Past holiday events include the Spring Party and Egg Hunt, a Halloween Party with safe "trick-or-treating", and the Holiday Party.  All of our special events are held at the San Ramon Community Center and feature snacks, crafts and activities.

In addition to our outings and special events, we also have two weekday park days per month: one in the morning on the first Monday of the month and another in the afternoon on the third Wednesday of each month.  These casual gatherings are a great opportunity for members to meet one another and make new friends.  Each park day is attended by a member from the social committee.  The organizing social committee member will be wearing a ribbon or name tag for easy identification.

Mom's Events  

The Iron Horse Mother's Club offers a few ways that mom can get some time for herself.  In case you need a break from the joys of parenting, Mom’s Night Out might be just the thing. Joining other moms to watch a movie, or have dinner & drinks can provide a friendly diversion, usually just when it’s needed most.  We have also started offering a Moms Morning Coffee.  Meeting at local coffee house with the kids in tow is a great way to meet other moms  and enjoy a short break in the middle of your hectic week. 

Additionally, the monthly General Meeting is a gathering for moms to listen to guest speakers discuss parenting issues and enjoy delicious snacks and lively conversation. The upcoming topic or theme of the General Meeting is announced in the newsletter. 

In addition to our just-for-fun events, there are many opportunities for moms to participate in outreach and fundraising activities throughout the year.  These events are a great way for moms to get involved with other IHMC moms and have fun while contributing a great cause.

Family Days  

The IHMC hosts Sunday park days so that whole families can have the opportunity to meet one another.  These unmanned park days are held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month.  Additionally we hold an annual family picnic where member families can enjoy a day of fun and socializing at a local park.  If you are looking for additional family activities, please consult your newsletter for the current list of community happenings.
